The Olympus Mju 400 is our entry level camera, offering absolute ease of use and an absence of distracting settings and controls. The camera's simplicity does not prevent it providing great pictures however.

At 4 megapixels, pictures can happily be printed at A4 size, and with its 512Mb memory card, you can take hundreds of pictures.

'Point and Shoot' photography

Point and shoot is what this camera was made for; this camera is fully automatic. All you need to do is aim and shoot!

The camera does however, provide you the ability to influence some settings if you desire:

• Flash: can be turned off, on, or left in Automatic mode
• Macro: in macro mode the camera is able to focus on very close objects, great for pictures of small fish, nudibranchs, coral, plants and close up shots.
• White balance: Four presets are available in addition to automatic
• Exposure: you can choose between multi-point and single spot metering
