How to rentFish on Film offer each camera package for rent on daily tariffs up to 28 days. Longer term rentals are also available - please contact us for more information. Fish on Film is based in Auckland, however we can bring rigs with us when we visit other locations around New Zealand, so if you're not in Auckland, drop us a line anyway - Fish on Film might be coming to a town near you! You can pick up your chosen rig(s) from us, or we can deliver the rig to you. (Depending on your location there may be an additional charge for delivery.) The rigs will (wherever possible) be supplied 'ready to go' with fully charged batteries. When you collect or receive the rig, we will go through the equipment with you to make sure you are happy with its use. For those new to underwater photography or videography, we will try to give you a few tips too!
Do I need any qualifications or experience? It depends on what you want to do with the camera rig. If you are planning to scuba dive with the cameras (which is the most common reason to hire our cameras), you will need to be certified for scuba diving e.g. PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification. If you are planning to snorkel or freedive, or simply to use the camera in wet or potentially wet environments (e.g. whilst kayaking, boating etc), then there are no requirements for dive qualifications! As regards required experience, again it depends on what you want to do with the rig. For scuba divers, our primary concerns are that you have sufficient experience of diving to enable you to cope with the additional task loading of photography whilst diving without endangering yourself or your buddy, or damaging the underwater environment. For non-scuba diving uses, our concerns again revolve around what effect use of the rig will have on your safety, that of others, and the environment. Each hire will be looked at on a case by case basis; the best way to resolve any questions is to contact us to discuss your proposed use. What if the rig is lost or damaged?Whilst the rig is hired to you, you are responsible for its security and care. Each hire involves a bond (the value of which varies depending on the rig you hire). In the event of loss or damage, you will be charged the value of any repair costs or replacement costs up to the bond value. |
